| Flag History | The Sacramento Kings are a professional basketball team based out of Sacramento, California. They compete in the Western Conference of the NBA. The Kings were originally a semi-professional team based in Rochester, New York in the 1920s. In 1945, the team joined the National Basketball League (NBL) as the Rochester Royals. The Royals switched to the Basketball Association of America, in 1948.
